Details of the pictures on this page are used as theme headers (the pics on the top of the site which change every time you refresh or load a new page on amolsch.com). On this page I’m sharing a bit of some of their stories:
December 28th, 2007 | Eilandenbuurt (Island Quarter) in Almere. Not the neighbourhood where we live, but considered quite a nice view by my brother who visited us with Christmas in 2007 (he was the one taking the picture).
June 25th, 2008 | Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (Karlsruhe Central Station) during our summer vacation in South Germany and Switzerland. After returning the rental car to Hertz in Karlsruhe the expected regional train at platform 4 was to bring me back to Blankenloch. At the very moment I made the shot the InterCityExpress to Amsterdam was supposed to depart from the opposite side of the platform. This is the only daily direct train to the Netherlands from South Germany, which was delayed by a couple of minutes on that particular day.
March 17th, 2009 | My aunt with her colleague at the bakery shop where they work. She didn't know I was in Karlsruhe for a few days. In the back some very nice German bread – that’s definitely part of what I miss in Holland!
May 30th, 2009 | Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof (Frankfurt Airport Station for long distance trains). Taken through the window of the train compartment. Outbound journey for a short visit to my parents in Bavaria.
May 30th, 2009 | The last few kilometers until reaching Amerdingen, the place where my parents live. My brother was driving the car. He and his girlfriend, whom we met for the first time, had picked us up from Ulm Central Station.
June 2nd, 2009 | Amsterdam Centraal (Amsterdam Central Station). Waiting for the connecting service to Almere. Final destination for the ICE train which just brought me back to Holland from Bavaria.
